Frequently Asked Questions
And Other Tips For Caregivers

I have had therapy. How is coaching different?
As your coach, I operate from a wellness model. That is, I assume that you are psychologically robust and healthy and that you will be okay whether or not you decide to hire me as your coach. We work together to achieve the agenda and outcome that you want. I will guide, support, challenge and motivate you, but I will not diagnose or treat you.

How long does coaching typically last?
Of course, everybody is different and everybody has different goals they want to achieve. Also, since people are different, they progress at different rates. Most people, in my experience, stay in coaching from two to six months. Sometimes when the initial goals are attained, other goals emerge.

How much do you charge?
My fee is $600.00 a month for three sixty minute sessions. Payment is made by credit card at the beginning of each month. At the end of each month you can decide whether or not you wish to continue.

"I feel so much better now that I am working with Dr. Peeples.

I used to have constant headaches and my back hurt so bad I could hardly stand up or walk. I was tired all the time, had difficulty sleeping and snapped at my husband, my children and even my elderly mother.

Since I started coaching, my headaches are a rarity, my back is much better, I am sleeping like a log and I have much more energy. My family says I am more pleasant to be around. I don’t know if this is related to my coaching, but my mother seems more agreeable and we are getting along much better now.”

Where does the coaching take place?
You have a choice of either coming to my office in Decatur, Georgia or doing coaching by phone. Most of my clients choose to have their coaching sessions over the phone. This relieves the need to drive, saves gas and time and generally seems to work better. In fact, many of my clients are from out of state and cannot come to my office.

What if I miss a session?
If you give me 24 hours advance notice, we can re-schedule the appointment. If you do not give 24 hours advance notice, I reserve the hour for you. It is your choice to use it or not. Therefore, that hour will not be re-scheduled and your fee for that hour will not be refunded. If you call in late for your appointment, the session will be limited to the remaining time for that hour with no adjustments.

What if I decide I have other issues I would like to be coached on besides my aging parents?
That is not a problem. Although coaching adult children or other caretakers of the elderly is my specialty, I am able to coach you on other topics.

Who are your ideal clients?
My ideal clients are intelligent, educated, motivated, want to change, able to talk about their issues, and are willing to put forth effort to accomplish their agendas.

What can coaching do for me?
Coaching can help you get relief and resolution to issues that have been bothering you. No longer will you have to lie in bed tossing and turning at night as you worry about what to do. You will no longer be in this by yourself. You will have a highly qualified and experienced coach who will listen to your issues objectively and help you make sense of the mess and achieve your goals. Most people say they wish they had gotten coaching years ago.

How does coaching work?
Sign up for a free sample session. This gives us both the opportunity to see how well we work together and allows you to determine if coaching is right for you. If you decide to continue, we will either meet at my office for one hour, or, as in most cases, we will have one sixty minute session on the phone three times a month.

May I contact you between sessions?
You may on a limited basis. You may e-mail me or contact me by phone. However, e-mails or phone calls that last over ten minutes will be billed at the rate of $3.00 per minute. This is in addition to the $600.00 monthly fee. You are encouraged to bring up issues during your regularly scheduled sixty minute session.

Is this confidential?
Absolutely!

Can I pay for each session on the day it is scheduled or do I have to pay in advance?
Yes, you have to pay for one month in advance by credit card. Your financial commitment assures me that you are sincere and serious about working on your issues.

Do you offer any bonuses?
Yes. I will give you one free session for every client you refer to me who signs up and pays for at least one month of coaching with me.

If at some point during the coaching, I develop a mental health problem would you be able to see me for psychotherapy or psychological testing?
No. I maintain very strong boundaries between therapy and other psychological services and coaching. Coaching is not therapy and I cannot be your coach AND your therapist. If you develop mental health issues, I would advise you to seek a therapist elsewhere.

How can I learn if coaching with Dr. Peeples is right for me?
